It’s live! - www.simmalawi.org launched
After about six months gestation (about the same as a baboon according to Wikipedia!), 1 January 2014 saw the launch of the all new SIM Malawi website – www.simmalawi.org. The new site was developed in conjunction with UK-based Church Edit, a company which specialises in church and charity websites. The new site includes information such as what SIM Malawi does, for example its projects and opportunities to serve, and it also has a developing library of audio files from the Pastors’ Book Set 2013 and videos looking at the work and the people of SIM Malawi. “Developing the site with Church Edit threw up some problems such as the fact we are several thousand miles away and we have to battle time differences of one or two hours depending on the time of year,” said SIM Malawi Communications Co-ordinator Ian Farrimond. “Despite these ‘problems’, it was quite a straightforward process and the end result is really what I had envisioned when thinking about the site; that is, it is ‘clean’ and simple to navigate. I hope that people will start to make use of it. Certainly, my intention is that it will not be a static site and there are plans for regular updates and some exciting programmes coming up later this year. So watch this space!” The new website is a significant element of the electronic communications portfolio of SIM Malawi. There is also a FaceBook page (https://www.facebook.com/SIM.Malawi), a Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/simmalawi) and this magazine, and the hope is that SIM Malawi personnel and supporters will make use of all as we look to promote the work of SIM Malawi to as wide an audience as possible.
